It's like the usb drivers are just gone and I can't find anywhere to reinstall them. I have tried literally every single thing I could find on the internet like deleting it and restarting my computer, using both hp and windows updating and trouble shooting thing, checking for driver updates on both hp and intel websites, updating the bios, restoring my computer to a time where it did work, turning off fast start up in windows, stared it down, everything. When I tried to automatically search for updates to it, it tells me that it could not find drivers for the device.

You're right, Windows 7 does not contain them. Ah, you were talking about the xHCI Controller & USB Hub drivers contained in Windows 10.

So I have a Hp Pavilion Notebook s/n: Īnd out of nowhere my usb ports all just stopped working and when I went to update or reinstall the device drivers as every single help forum tells you to do, I noticed that I do not have the 'Universal Serial Bus Controller Driver' tree in device manger at all, it's not hidden or anything it's just gone and instead I found under 'Other Devices' something called 'USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller' with an error sign on it and when I double click it it says "(code 28) Drivers are not installed" and also "There are no compatible drivers for this device". They are for streaming to/from the shields usb port.
